A little Location review for today! I went to the archery trail at the Breitenstein – Kirchschlag/Linz. After a very warm December without any snow at all it finally started snowing the night before this trip. So I decided to take my Nikon D750 with the Tamron SP 24-70 VC USD with me to use this opportunity for the first snow pictures of this winter season. The temperature was about -6° C (21,2° F) and the camera as well as the lens worked perfectly. The light snowfall also didn’t affect the camera.

The Breitenstein is a really beautiful location. A 3D archery trail, a high ropes course, an observation tower and numerous hiking paths throughout the forest are awaiting you. After finishing the archery trail, I have chosen the hiking path which leads to the (sadly closed) observation tower. The light in the wood was really stunning and I am very pleased with the pictures.

Conclusion

It was a really great trip with some sporting activities and I enjoyed the winter scenery while taking the pictures. It was also the first time I took my Nikon out at low temperatures and light snowfall and, as previously mentioned, the camera and lens worked perfectly. I am looking forward to more winter trips this season (in winter 2014/15 we didn’t have any snow at all…).
